General

In Norway the collection of personal data is mainly regulated by the Personal Data Act. Other legal sources, such as the Accounting Act, also provide guidelines on how such information should be processed.

NAG is committed to protecting all personal information provided by our customers. We have designed the following guidelines in respect for the customer's privacy, and to ensure that we comply with the Personal Data Act and other relevant laws and regulations.

NAG - Data Processing

NAG is responsible for all collection and processing of customers' personal data. The Managing Director is responsible for ensuring that this is correctly protected.

Main Objective

Personal information is used for customer administration, billing, marketing and for NAG to deliver the products and services customers have ordered.

In addition, we use information about how visitors navigate our web pages to gauge interest in the various areas of the site, and to improve the web pages generally.

Legal Basis

NAG processes personal data to fulfil our legal obligations and safeguard the security of our customers in accordance with the Personal Data Act.

Type of personal data

NAG collects the following private information about our customers: Personal data (name, title, date of birth, nationality, language and gender), contact information (address, mobile number and email address), booking and travel information, disability and allergies, passport details (applies to exploration travel), relatives contact details , information about purchases made on board and customer communication.

Where NAG collects data from:

NAG collects information about our users through acceptance of our web policies, IP addresses and cookies.

Customer Profiles

Customer profiles consist of information NAG has collected from the customer, such as name, contact information, which services are requested and previous purchases. The customer profiles are used to safeguard the customer relationship, simplify booking for returning customers and as a basis for product development.

NAG deletes customer profiles when they have not been active for 10 years. The customer is considered inactive when he has not made any orders or purchases for 10 years or has refused to receive marketing information. Customers who wish to delete their profiles earlier can contact NAG Customer Service.

Scanning of boarding / cruise cards on board

Customers boarding / cruise cards are scanned onboard. The purpose is to gather information for demographic analysis and to improve our offers on board. This information is not linked to the individual, and the scan is voluntary as long as the customer does not use the cruise card as a debit card.

If the cruise card is used as a payment card, purchase information will be linked to the individual customer. This information is used exclusively for invoice information.

Telephone recording and video surveillance

When customers call to order NAG may record calls. These recordings can be used as documentation of the agreements entered into, as well as for internal training. The recordings are stored for five years.

NAG may also use video surveillance to ensure the safety of everyone on board. Surveillance videos are deleted after seven days, unless episodes such as accidents or criminal acts have occurred.

After-tour surveys

After the tour, all customers will be sent an online evaluation form that allows us to improve the customer experience. The form is voluntary, and all responses are anonymously registered. The survey is managed by a third party who cannot use customer contact information for anything other than the specific assignment.

Use of the Internet

Use of the Internet and IP addresses

Internet users leave electronic clues showing which pages they have visited. On the NAG website, the server automatically logs visitor IP addresses. An IP address is a unique number that is automatically assigned to your computer when you use the Internet. NAG does not use this information to identify individuals, but to record the amount of time spent on our site.

Cookies

A cookie is a message that is sent from a web server to the computer where it is stored on the hard disk. The vast majority of websites use such cookies. NAG uses cookies to track and store what visitors to our sites are interested in, in order to provide them with more tailored experiences when they revisit.

Cookies can improve and simplify the user experience by storing preferences and passwords, helping to estimate the number of website visitors and finding out which sites are most popular and get heavier traffic.

Web users can set their browser preferences to reject all cookies, but this may delay or stop access to parts of the website. NAG uses cookies that do not contain personal information that can identify individuals.

Secure data transfer

Invoice information that the customer registers on NAG's websites is transmitted in encrypted form through SSL (Secure Socket Layer). SSL is an established coding system that allows the customer's browser to automatically encrypt data before sending to NAG. This ensures that all personal information remains as secure as possible

Information Exchange with third parties

NAG shares information regarding the customer's travel plans, with third parties such as airlines, ships, hotels and transport companies. Information may also be provided to third parties for credit checks, to government agencies or as required by law. Customer information will never be passed on to individuals or companies that are not directly responsible for parts of the customer's journey.

Data protection

NAG takes a number of precautions to secure personal information obtained. NAG has adequate physical, electronic and operating procedures to prevent unauthorised access, keep the information accurate and ensure that it is used correctly.

Customer rights

NAG registered customers have the right to request information about what personal data is stored about them. By contacting us, we will release this information as soon as possible (within a maximum of 30 days).

Registered customers can also change or update personal information through My Page in our booking system. Customers can also contact us with questions about correcting, supplementing or deleting incorrect information.

NAG may use email addresses provided at registration or otherwise to periodically send out newsletters about new sailings, special offers, services or other news. Upon request we will remove users from the database or from future email newsletter lists. Customers who inadvertently receive such information after a request to unsubscribe can contact info@norwegianadventurecompany.com
